Fees & Rebates
We keep our fees transparent, with Medicare, NDIS, DVA, and workers’ compensation pathways available.
Medicare Rebates
If your GP has placed you on a Mental Health Care Plan, you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Clinical Psychologist — $250 (individual, 50–60 min) / $275 (couples) — Medicare rebate $$149.05
Registered Psychologist — $200 (50–60 min) — Medicare rebate $101.55
Clinical Social Worker — $200 (individual) / $250 (couples) / $250 (child & family) / $250 (complex — ADHD/Autism/combined family) — Medicare rebate $89.50
A limited number of lower-cost sessions with our Provisional Psychologist are available at $50 per session (not covered by Medicare), offered based on capacity.
All consultations are payable at the time of appointment. Overdue accounts are charged at the Australian Psychological Society’s recommended rate of $318. If you fail to attend your appointment without at least 24 hours’ notice, a late cancellation/DNA fee up to the full cost of the consultation may apply. A 10% surcharge applies to Saturday appointments.
GP Mental Health Care Plan
A Mental Health Care Plan to see a psychologist or clinical social worker usually allows for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. After your initial 6 sessions, your GP will review the plan and may approve a further 4 sessions at their discretion. Once you’ve completed your original 10 sessions, you can see your GP about an Enhanced Primary Care Plan.
Chronic Condition Management Plane
If you’ve used your 10 MHCP sessions in the calendar year, you may be eligible to apply for Chronic Condition Management Plan through your GP. If eligible, you’ll be entitled to a $63.40 Medicare rebate (up to $223.65 if the safety net is reached).
Private Ancillary Health Rebates
Rebates are available for most private health funds and vary from approximately $44–$130. Please check your level of cover with your individual health fund.
Please note: rebates cannot be claimed from Medicare and Private Ancillary Health Cover at the same time, as this is regarded as “double dipping.”
Motor Vehicle Accidents & Workers Compensation
If you’ve had a motor vehicle accident or have an approved workers’ compensation claim, we’ll liaise with and send invoices directly to your insurer.
St John Ambulance (SJA)
Hannington Clinical Psychology supports St John Ambulance employees, volunteers, and family members. We liaise directly with St John’s — there is no out-of-pocket expense to you. Six sessions are usually granted initially, with potential for additional sessions as required.
Open Arms & Australian Defence Force (ADF)
Hannington Clinical Psychology is honoured to support current and past serving members of the Defence Force and their families. There is no out-of-pocket expense to you. Please contact our office to discuss referral requirements. We offer face-to-face consultations as well as telephone and video telehealth sessions.
Department of Veterans’ Affairs
We can process your consultations via Medicare and your White or Gold Card.
NDIS
We able to assist NDIS participants through their plan managers, however, we cannot invoice NDIA for services.
