Fees and Rebates

MEDICARE REBATES

If your GP has placed you on a Mental Health Care Plan, you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Hannington Clinical Psychology currently charges $200 – $210 per (50-60 minutes) consultation payable at the time of appointment. The current Medicare rebate is  $126.50. Overdue accounts are charged at the Australian Psychological Society recommended rate of $254.

GP MENTAL HEALTH CARE PLAN #2710

A Mental Health Care Plan to see a psychologist entitles the client up to 10 sessions per calendar year. After the initial 6 sessions the GP will review the plan which will generate a further 4 sessions, at the GP’s discretion. Number of sessions permitted on a Mental Health Care Plan is Government/Medicare regulated and may be subject to change.

ENHANCED PRIMARY CARE

If you have used your 10 MHCP sessions in the calendar year,  you may be eligible to apply for Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) through your GP.  If eligible you will then be entitled to a $52.95 Medicare rebate (up to $174.80 if safety net is reached).

PRIVATE ANCILLARY HEALTH REBATES

Rebates are available for most private health funds and vary from $44 – $130 approximately.
Please enquire about the level of cover with your individual health fund.

* Unfortunately rebates cannot be claimed from Medicare AND Private Ancillary Health Cover at the same time as this is regarded as “double dipping”.
